Two looks at one sky

A vertical and a large loop at the same grid are two samples of one ionosphere. Different angle, different polarization. That is how one avoids mistaking a deaf antenna for a dead band.

Why this far north

Eureka sits at the north end of the continuous United States, with the Rockies as backdrop and elevation enough to look east across the plains. Auroral weather is not a rumor here. DN28mu
